time for some updates! :)
CHINGAY is finally over!! wheeee~
friday 30 Jan:
first day of chingay.. it was actually a preview rehearsal i think, coz we've never been on the actual route before. we arrived near the chingay place by bus and it was quite embarrassing when we alighted coz we all had our makeup done and costume on so the public stared at us like we were aliens hahaha :) saw the performers from other contingents and we took photos with some of them :D the performers from the japanese association were really cool! the kids were so cute and there were also some handsome guys. like really idol kind! hahaha :D anyway we waited quite long on the float before the parade started.. the first station was the main stage and it was the most important station coz all the VIPs were there. i felt that everything was okay just that they released too much smoke on our float :( i couldn't see a single thing.. not even the steps on the float and neither could the audience see us too -.- the second and third stations were disastrous coz we didn't know the audience were on the other side and the whole performance had to be mirror-imaged :x overall i felt the whole thing was quite messy.. luckily it was just a preview..
saturday 31 Jan:
everything was the same as the day before, just that after we complained they changed the smoke on the float into confetti. unfortunately after they popped the confetti, the wind just had to blow them onto my fellow float dancer, trapping them in a web of gold that they couldn't dance -.- sigh! i don't know if it was lucky or not that this moment of embarrassment wasn't caught on tv. in fact, the float dancers weren't caught on tv at all! the telecast was crap. even the stupid dragon heads got more attention than us. i could barely see my shadow on tv. what was the point of practising the steps and all when nobody could even see us? -.- besides that, the rest of the stations were better coz we had gone through the route the day before already.
sunday 1 Feb:
float parade at ang mo kio. we were paid for the float parades following chingay.. and i would say it was a rather handsome sum. at first it was because of the money that i agreed to go, despite having a midterm test the next day. but i kind of panicked on sunday morning, that i thought i was really going to die for the test the next day. people would think "it's just a test what.." but hey, it's a 8AUs module :( so at the very last minute i managed to resist the money temptation and i tried to tell them that i wouldn't want to go already, but apparently it was too late a decision as they said they couldn't find a replacement on time so i just had to go. oh man, i almost went crazy then. in the end i brought my notes along. (yes, i brought my notes up the float) i studied a little.. then the parade started. it was a loooonnnggg one. we boarded the float at bishan and waved from ang mo kio to seng kang :x the whole journey took 3+ hrs i think. it was tiring but fun :) i love to see old people and kids waving at us! they distributed some plastic hands to everyone like those we see on ndp.. the old folks looked really cute waving at us with the plastic hands :p
anyway, that night i went back to hall at 1am, slept around 3 hours and studied all the way till morning.. the test was bad as expected (how can someone like me who barely studied do well right). i really dislike the teacher of this module. i respect him for his knowledge and all, but i totally despise him as an educator. like seriously! he said we couldn't even answer simple questions in the test.. and that obviously we weren't listening in class.. blah blah blah and he even said that we are 低智. that totally made me feel like an idiot! what makes him think we weren't listening? and if we weren't, why is that our notes are all scribbled with notes? we are still humans afterall.. it's not possible we retain 100% of the knowledge right. he may feel heartbroken that we are students of such low calibre but how can he put us down with words like that? he's the least encouraging teacher among all the tcm teachers we had so far. he's super weird too. he gets distracted so easily that he nags at people who come in one minute after he starts talking for being late, and he nags at people who fidget a little in class (sometimes we don't even know who he's referring to when he nags coz we don't really see anyone talking or fidgeting). some people might think he's using the reverse psychology on us but all i can say is that it's not working. definitely.
saturday 7 Feb:
finale of chingay at chinatown! the parade was shorter than the one at amk and the audience wasn't as engaging :( but we still managed to see fireworks, firecrackers and stuffs and it was really beautiful! :) zheng rong and cui fang were the emcees on the stage :) overall, we thought the parade wasn't as satisfying as the one at amk, so i felt it was worth it to sacrifice my test for the parade at amk afterall (since i wouldn't have done any better given one more day to study).
okay, so i'm finally done with chingay :) it was a really good experience.. just that people of my course don't seem to be able to join any activities we like coz it might just clash badly with our studies. next obstacle to my studies will be the joint dance concert in march. hope i'll survive it!!
drama that i'm currently watching:

korean version of f4! :)
even though it's still airing in korea, i'm surprised many people are chasing this show! i think it's quite nice :) hehehe.
anyway, i'm really really really glad that my application for global summer studies got approved! :DDD hahaha i'll be attached to pusan national university in korea for 3 weeks (i think). wheeee! but i'm still quite confused over the admin matters so i still can't really believe that i got a placement. hopefully this isn't a dream :D
i wonder when i should go back to my ballet class. it's like in the middle of the term now and if i just go back now i don't know how the payment should be made :x but if i go back the next term, it'll be in april already :( boohoo. oh anyway the hip hop dance workshop i organised in hall turned out to be quite fun hahaha. my body ached from the movements! i'm so surprised coz now even contemp doesn't make me ache as much anymore. hahaha.
i first drove without p plate last friday and i think i sucked. i actually got honked at :p hahaha.. what to expect, i don't usually drive. i felt so clumsy over the steering wheels.
i shall start my mugging engine already! another quiz coming in less than 2 weeks :((
